Today, Fern Hall is home to our restaurant, Bed & Breakfast, and the Clubhouse of Scottish Glen, a scenic nine-hole daily fee golf course. The main residence, and the boat house on the shores of Crystal Lake, are perfect for special events, weddings, graduations, corporate retreats, family outings, film shoots, dinner, Sunday brunch or just a relaxing getaway.

In the 1820s the family of Sylvester Johnson, farmers from Connecticut, purchased the land and settled here on Crystal Lake. Three of the offspring, James, Robert and Edward Mead went on to found the Johnson & Johnson Company of Pharmaceutical fame. In 1916 James built his family retreat known as Fern Hall.

Located on 117 acres, historic Fern Hall is a gracious country inn with bright spacious guest rooms.
Fern Hall's history is unique. The land of Fern Hall was granted to Samuel Meredith, the first Treasurer of the United States. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania was the seller for five shillings and the deal was handled by Benjamin Franklin.
