Rail Trails
These recreational trails are 38 miles long, stretching from Simpson to the New York border near Susquehanna, PA. Ten miles have been improved with a stone dust surface suitable for hybrid and mountain bikes. The improved section runs along the Upper Lackawanna River from Vandling to Herrick Center. It is also used by equestrians, runners and hikers. Other sections are graded original railbed surface usable by mountain bikers and hikers.

Merli-Sarnoski Park | 5 mi
The 840-acre park features lake swimming, fishing and sports facilities but is also known for its wide expanse of untouched natural beauty. It is located just off Route 106 in Fell Township.

Lackawanna State Park | 13.3 mi
Lake Lackawanna, a 198-acre man-made lake, is the central focus of recreation at the park.

Tunkhannock Viaduct | 15 mi
Tunkhannock Creek Viaduct is a concrete deck arch bridge that spans the Tunkhannock Creek.
